Dear New York Pass/New York Explorer pass guest, |
| As a New York Pass Holder you are entitled to three public walking tours per passholder. You may take all three of the following tours: ”The New York Insider’s Shopping Tour” , “NYC Slavery and Underground Railroad” and ” Brooklyn Bridge and Dumbo Neighborhood Tour.”
As an NY Explorer pass holder you are only entitled to a free Brooklyn Bridge and DUMBO neighborhood tour. Although we welcome you to take our other tours, they are not free with NY Explorer passes. |
| PLEASE READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE BOOKING!! |
| Tours have limited capacity and you are advised to book in advance. We do have room for limited walk-ups. However, if you do not book, tour tickets may be sold out. If you are a walk-up and there is room, we will admit you to the tour. |
| Please note that once a tour is in progress we cannot delay the tour for late arrivals or interrupt the tour guide so that latecomers can track him down since this affects the experience of people who are present. Therefore, we recommend that you come at least 15 minutes before departure. |
| IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS,CONCERNS or DIFFICULTY BOOKING A TOUR, PLEASE EMAIL US AT info@insideouttours.com. This is the fastest and most efficient way of getting in touch as the two numbers listed in the NY Pass book only have automated messages and our ticket servicing company (Brown Paper Tickets) may not be able to answer more detailed questions. |
| WHEN THE TOURS ARE OFFERED |
| The Brooklyn Bridge and DUMBO Tour will be on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays at 11:00 am. Starting April 16, the Brooklyn Bridge tour will be offered Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 11am. Starting in July the Brooklyn Bridge and DUMBO tour will also be available on Fridays at 11am. |
|
The New York Insider’s Shopping Tour will be offered Fridays only at 10:00 am. NYC Slavery and Underground Railroad Tour will be offered Saturdays at 2pm. |
| WHAT TO EXPECT |
| The NYC Slavery and Underground Railroad Tour is a 2 to 2 1/2 hour outdoor walking tour. We walk approximately 1.7 miles during the tour. There is one bathroom break midway into the tour. We recommend using the bathroom ahead of time. |
| The Brooklyn Bridge and Dumbo Tour is 1.5 to 2 hours. We walk approximately 1.5 miles. The Brooklyn Bridge tour ends in DUMBO Brooklyn where you are escorted to a main train terminal in Brooklyn Heights that has trains going to the Times Square Area and other parts of Manhattan. You also have the option of taking a ferry back to Manhattan or walking back across the Brooklyn Bridge to enjoy it once more. Some people choose to stay and explore Brooklyn while others prefer to be escorted to the train terminal. |
| The New York Insider’s Shopping Tour is 1.5 to 2 hours and explores unique boutiques, specialty stores, vintage stores and consignment shops in the SOHO and Nolita area. Many of these stores are designer shops that are frequented by both celebrities and their stylists but we also visit hip stores frequented by locals for household good and jewlry. Although, we do go to some bargain locations and may get some discounts as an added bonus, THIS IS NOT A DISCOUNT SHOPPING TOUR. This is a tour where you visit some of the most innovative designers and beautiful boutiques in New York. Some of these stores will be bargain locations and some will be very high end. You will find items suitable for gifts and personal use. We explore each store, having time to lightly peruse to get an insight into a cross section of New York Fashion and then will be moving on so your 2 hours on the tour will fly by. Have post-tour lunch at a charming local spot, and then return to those stores at which you wanted more time in or explore others in this beautiful section of New York. |
| WEATHER |
| Tours run rain or shine. However, we reserve the right to cancel tours under severe weather conditions such as hurricane or snow. In case of questions regarding tour cancellations, please email us at info@insideouttours.com or call 718-644-8205. There is one bathroom stop but please make sure you go before the tour. Many of the sites on the Underground Railroad no longer exist, however, we visit the original sites of these stations and tell the stories of the brave men and women who participated in America’s first civil rights movement, the abolitionist movement. The Brooklyn Bridge and Dumbo neighborhood tours concerns the history of the establishment of Brooklyn, the creation and design of Brooklyn Bridge and of the Brooklyn neighborhood of Dumbo.
